Carotid Duplex Scan
This is an ultrasound scan of the carotid arteries (These are arteries situated in the neck and carry oxygenated blood to the brain). Presence of blockage in these arteries is the major underlying cause of stroke. The test is performed by using a probe with gel applied over neck. Approximate time taken for the test is 15-20 minutes. No preparation is necessary for this test.
