Holter Monitoring
This is performed to assess any irregularities in heart rhythm. Typically leads (wires) are attached to the chest wall and are connected to a monitor (a small box) and patient wears this 24 to 48 hours. Monitor stores the heartbeats over this period and after the test, this information is downloaded to a computer and analyzed for any irregularities. No preparation is necessary for this test.
