MUGA scan
This is a noninvasive test most frequently used to assess the size and function of pumping chambers of heart. This test is performed as follows:
- You may be asked to change into a gown.
- An IV will be placed and electrodes will be attached to the chest.
- A small amount of radioactive isotope will be injected into your veins
- A technologist will be place you under a nuclear camera with arms over your head and asked to lie still for 60-90 minutes. The whole test about 1 to 2 hours.
