Tilt Table Testing
This is a noninvasive test for identifying the underlying cause for fainting or near fainting spells. Test is performed as follows:
- Do not eat or drink for 4- 6 hours prior to the test. Do not bring your valuables.
- You will be asked to change into a gown and lie on the special bed that has a footboard and a motor and can be tilted to varying angles. Your heart rhythm and blood pressure will be monitored in the lying down and at different tilted angles for a period of time. Medications may be given intravenously to stimulate your heart.
- Approximate time for the test is 90 minutes.
